A 25-year-old man was in critical condition with head and chest injuries Friday after a utility truck ran over him as he lay on the grass at El Camino Park in Orange, police said.
Tadeusz Stasiak of Orange “sustained major head and chest trauma” and was transported to UCI Medical Center, Police Lt. Lou Walsh said.
The 16-year-old driver of the truck was not arrested or cited, but an investigation into the accident is under way, Walsh said.
Stasiak was lying on a small grassy knoll in the park shortly before noon when the truck approached from the other side of the knoll, Walsh said. As the youth drove the truck on the grass down the back side of the knoll, he ran over Stasiak, Walsh said.
