Elite Empress Favored in Dash For Cash

Elite Empress, winner of four of her six starts, is favored in tonight’s $629,000 Dash For Cash Futurity at Los Alamitos Race Course.
The Grade I stakes race, a 400-yard dash for 2-year-olds, will pay the winner $233,320. Elite Empress, running from the No. 9 slot, is trained by Bob Baffert, who also has Classy Classanova running.
Especially Angelic, trained by Charlie Bloomquist, was the race’s fastest qualifier with a time of 19.87 seconds.
The Dash For Cash Futurity will be the eighth race on the 10-race program.
The field, with trainers, in post-position order: Nancys Got It (Bob Gilbert), Fun Fashion (Blane Schvaneveldt), Teller Queen (Bob Gilbert), Especially Angelic (Bloomquist), Mito Native (Bruce Bell), Classy Classanova (Baffert), Sig Hanson (John Clements), Our Special Girl (Marshall Ferrell), Elite Empress (Baffert) and Smashington (Bob Gilbert).
