Funds for Education

The front-page Times headline on education states “Money Not the Answer to School Woes, Panel States” (Part I, June 28).
Not true--Try putting enough money into education to reduce class sizes by 50%. Particularly kindergarten through elementary grades.
The reduced class sizes would result in greater interest in going to school and learning. If they like school, students will develop a lasting desire to learn.
The result would be better educated children and adults, fewer dropouts, and less drug and crime problems.
The pay-back from the money spent would be tremendous. Let’s stop kidding ourselves and blaming teachers, discipline, etc.
