Salinger ABC’s European Chief

NEW YORK — Pierre Salinger, ABC’s chief foreign correspondent and a former press secretary to two Presidents, has been named the network’s senior editor for Europe, it was announced today.
Salinger, who served Presidents John F. Kennedy and, briefly, Lyndon B. Johnson, will oversee coverage of all international stories. David Glodt, ABC News’ Los Angeles bureau chief, has been named director of news coverage for Europe, Africa and the Middle East and wil be based in London. He replaces Paul Friedman, who became executive producer of “World News Tonight” with Peter Jennings.
