A federal grand jury in San Diego has returned a five-count indictment against an El Cajon attorney charged with possessing cocaine and marijuana with intent to distribute, the U.S. attorney’s office said Wednesday.
The lawyer, David A. Brabant, 44, who could be sentenced to a maximum of 25 years in jail and a fine of $1.25 million on the drug charges, is also alleged to have illegally used or carried firearms in connection with the drug charges.
Brabant, who is free on $25,000 bail, could not be reached for comment.
The indictment is the result of the seizure of evidence during a search at Brabant’s El Cajon home July 1, the U.S. attorney’s office said.
