Ford Aerospace said it won a 30-month contract valued at up to $156 million to build a battlefield ground station for the U.S. Air Force. Under the contract, the Newport Beach-based defense and aerospace company will develop and build the TR-1 Ground Station for the Air Force’s Tactical Reconnaissance System. The TRS system is the Air Force’s main battlefield reconnaissance system, providing commanders with information on enemy targets. The program is being administered by the Air Force’s Systems Command Aeronautical Systems Division at the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio.
