Pasadena : Parking Rates May Increase
The Board of Directors is considering raising rates at the city’s two Old Pasadena parking structures to help shrink a projected operating deficit this fiscal year of about $180,000.
The deficit is a result of low rates the city has been charging in an effort to attract new customers to the shopping area, officials said.
Under the proposal presented to the board Monday, hourly rates would increase from 25 cents to 50 cents, and monthly rates would rise from $35 to $40.
If the proposal is approved, the new rates would eliminate the deficit by the end of the fiscal year in June, officials said.
