Authorities are seeking the identity of a newborn found Sunday morning in a cardboard box left on the steps of a Diamond Bar church.
The boy, wrapped in a towel and covered with a green blanket, was discovered by a parishioner at about 9:45 on the steps of the North Minister Presbyterian Church on Rancheria Road.
Paramedics called to the scene believe the infant was about 2 hours old. He was taken to San Dimas Hospital, where he was listed in good condition, a Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputy said.
Anyone with information about the child or his mother is asked to contact the Walnut station of the Sheriff’s Department. “We’re hoping that someone may have seen someone (with the baby) at the church,” Deputy Kathryn Nielsen said. The Walnut station’s telephone number is (714) 595-2264.
