Jo Henderson, one of the four-person ensemble in the recent world premiere of Lee Blessing’s “Two Rooms” at the La Jolla Playhouse, was killed Saturday in a car crash in Chinle, Ariz. Henderson, 54, was driving from La Jolla to her home in Pomona, N.Y., and was killed instantly when her car skidded into oncoming traffic. Henderson, who played the forceful state department official in “Two Rooms,” had been a professional actress for more than 30 years. She had received a Tony nomination in 1984 for “Play Memory,” an Obie Award for “Ladyhouse Blues” at the Phoenix Theatre Company in 1976 and starred in “Lianna,” a 1983 film directed by John Sayles. Informal memorial services were held at the Mandell Weiss Center for the Performing Arts on Wednesday.
