Federal regulators expect to sell, close or merge some 20 Texas thrifts in the next week, the Dallas Morning News reported. It said it got its information from Roger Martin, a member of the Federal Home Loan Bank Board, which regulates the thrift industry. Martin was not available for comment, and a spokesman with the Washington-based bank board could not confirm the report.
