Iraq Gives Captured Iranian Arms to Jordan

BAGHDAD, Iraq — The Iraqi military has given Jordan a huge haul of captured Iranian tanks and armored personnel carriers, the official Iraqi News Agency reported.
The agency said the booty included 90 British-made Chieftain tanks, 60 American-built M-47 tanks, 19 British Scorpion tanks and 35 armored personnel carriers.
The gift of war booty was disclosed at the end of a visit on Tuesday by Jordan’s King Hussein, a staunch backer of Baghdad in its eight-year-long conflict with Iran.
