A preliminary National Collegiate Athletic Assn. inquiry at Florida State University may look into whether several athletes were overpaid for acting as campus hosts to visiting recruits.
The NCAA recently requested university records that list payment to such players, the latest in a series of requests for athletic department documents, Florida State officials told the Tampa Tribune.
