Body Found Under Bed as Guests Complain

OCEANSIDE, N.Y. — The body of a woman was found under a bed in a Long Island motel and police said today the corpse had been there for several days while guests used the room.
An autopsy showed the unidentified woman had been beaten to death, Nassau County police said.
A motel maintenance man discovered the decomposing body at 8:55 a.m. Monday on the floor under a platform bed at the Oceanside Motel after guests complained of a foul odor. It appeared the body had been inside the base of the bed for several days while guests used the room, police said. At least one guest refused to stay in the room Sunday because of the odor.
