High School Top 10 : Avocado at Its Best; Metro Is Struggling

SAN DIEGO — Two things seem certain 2 weeks into the San Diego County high school football season.

1. The Avocado League is as strong as it has ever been. The 8 teams have combined for a 12-4 record; 6 are unbeaten and 4 are ranked in this week’s Top 10.

2. The Metro Conference is as weak as it has ever been. The 8 teams are a combined 3-13, and perennial powers Sweetwater and Chula Vista are both 0-2.
