South Pasadena 28, Crescenta Valley 21--J. J. Young’s 90-yard kickoff return for a touchdown with 1:42 to play broke a 21-21 tie and gave South Pasadena the win at Glendale High.
Crescenta Valley, trailing, 21-7, late in the fourth quarter, took advantage of an interception deep in South Pasadena territory to pull within 8 points.
An ensuing onside kick recovery resulted in a touchdown and a 2-point conversion to tie the score with 1:55 left.
Running back Victor Ramirez, who finished with a game-high 98 yards in 19 carries, gave Crescenta Valley an early 7-0 lead on a 4-yard run.
