Mission Viejo Remains No. 1 in Prep Football Poll

Mission Viejo High School received six first-place votes and remained the top-ranked team in the Orange County Sportswriters’ Assn. prep football poll.
Mission Viejo beat Santa Ana last week, 35-12. Servite received the other first-place vote and was ranked second. Servite beat Crespi, 35-20, with running back Derek Brown rushing for 312 yards.
Unbeaten Loara made its debut in the poll, ranked 10th. Loara has three shutouts and has allowed only one touchdown in four games.
In the featured game of the week, fourth-ranked Fountain Valley travels to Veterans Stadium to meet Long Beach Poly at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
