Research Halted on Drug for AIDS-Related Complex

NEW YORK — Sponsors of a study into treating AIDS-related complex with the experimental drug Ampligen have stopped the research, citing disappointing results. Ampligen failed to show any advantage over a placebo that would justify continuing the research, the sponsors said Thursday.
