South Africa’s exiled African National Congress agreed to help the nation’s rugby administrators lift an international anti-apartheid ban, but only if the sport becomes totally desegregated.
Officials of the militant rebel movement made their decision public in a statement from Harare, Zimbabwe after 2 days of secret talks between its officials and veteran South African rugby administrators, who defied opposition to the meeting from other members of their union.
