Reseda 17, Sylmar 13--Reseda stopped running back Robert Augustus for no gain on fourth and 2 from the Regent 32-yard line with 2:30 left to secure the win at Sylmar.
The Regents marched 67 yards in 11 plays, capped by Aaron Brumfield’s 1-yard touchdown run with 6:04 left for the winning score. The drive was set up by Roderick Rosby’s fumble recovery at the Regent 33-yard line.
Sylmar scored on the sixth play of the game when tailback Jerome Casey bolted 46 yards for a touchdown. Casey, who gained 155 yards in 16 carries, rolled up 106 yards in 6 carries in the first quarter.
Reseda running back William Gaines had 68 yards in 14 carries and scored a touchdown that cut a 10-0 Sylmar lead to 10-7 in the second quarter.
