Reassessments of ‘The Lost-Out Generation’
- Share via
I started out reading your article on The Lost-Out Generation thinking, “Yes, isn’t it hard? I’m one of the group. I can’t afford real estate on my single salary, jobs are uncertain, my future is unknown.” But as I kept reading, I found this group an embarrassment and I don’t want myself included in this selfish picture.
Am I really supposed to feel sorry for others of my generation who are so hard done by they won’t have a child because it will stop them from going to Great Britain for 2 1/2 weeks? Or the cost of private schooling is too high? Or someone who can’t live in affluent San Marino?
