Itel Corp.’s third-quarter net income doubled from last year to $12.8 million. Revenue rose to $420 million, up 23%. The Chicago firm, which engages in transportation and financial services, dredging and the distribution of wiring systems products, attributed the results to continuing improvement in container demand, moderately improved lease rates, the growth in the size of its container fleet, sharp increases in earnings and revenue in dredging operations, and continued strong sales in the voice, data and cable television markets.
