Herbert Bergen, Resident Since 1898, Dead at 91

Funeral services for Herbert M. Bergen, 91, a former rancher, Fullerton schools trustee and Orange County Grand Jury foreman, who died on Tuesday, will be Saturday.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. at McAulay & Wallace Mortuary in Fullerton. Interment will follow at Memory Garden Memorial Park in Brea.
Born in South Dakota, Bergen moved to Orange County in 1898. He graduated from Orange High School and the University of Michigan.
Bergen was a citrus rancher and a member of the Civic Board of Trustees for both Fullerton High School and Fullerton Junior College.
He is survived by daughters, Marilyn A. Caine of Irvine, and Barbara L. Istvan, of Maryland, and a son, Herb Bergen of New Jersey. He also leaves 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
