Town Buries 2 Boys Slain by Tustin Man

BLOOMER, Wis. — Two sons of a Bloomer woman who were killed in Tustin last month by their foster father were buried Monday in Bloomer City Cemetery.

Billy Huffman, 11, and Frankie Huffman, 8, the sons of Judy Sones, were killed Oct. 24 at their Tustin home. Leon E. Huffman, 60, the foster father, then killed his mother, Alice, 86, and himself, police said.

The boys were returned to their mother for burial. Sones said California officials took her sons away from her when she lived near Anaheim in the early 1980s.

Sones, 32, said she plans to sue California and the foster family over the death of the boys.

“I made plenty of effort to get those boys,” she said. “I loved them. I wanted them with me. They took my children and now they’re dead. I’m just beginning to get going on this. I want to know why my babies are dead.”
