Flooding Kills 2 Near Rio

RIO DE JANEIRO — Two people died and more than 600 lost their homes in weekend flooding near Rio, state government officials said Monday. Torrential rains swamped towns, swept away bridges and destroyed homes in the area around Araruama, a popular resort 80 miles west of Rio, officials said.
