Ashton-Tate Co. said third-quarter earnings rose 5.9% to $11.7 million, compared to a year ago. The Torrance-based developer of microcomputer business software said revenue increased 11% to $75.7 million. The company said results reflected the release of dBase IV software during the quarter.
