MacKay Skips Recount; Mack Wins Senate Seat

OCALA, Fla. — Rep. Buddy MacKay (D-Fla.) saying, “The people have spoken,” conceded defeat Wednesday to Republican Connie Mack to end the closest Senate race in Florida history.
“This election is over, and I don’t intend to file any petitions, to file any lawsuits or to ask for any further recounts,” MacKay said at a news conference.
