Lovesick Sailor Berthed in Jail

EXETER, England — A lovesick British sailor was jailed Wednesday for pursuing a seven-year courtship that keeps on landing him in trouble with the law.
David Custance, 40, showered 28-year-old secretary Jill Dixon with flowers, gifts and 600 letters from all over the world, but her mother said Dixon hated the sight of the mariner and had fled abroad to escape him.
The burly sailor was jailed for two months, the fourth time he had been ordered to serve time for refusing legal orders to end his courtship.
