Bill Glasson, winner of two of his last three tournaments, continued his hot shooting with an 8-under-par 64 Wednesday to take the first-round lead in the $600,000 Kapalua International golf tournament.

John Mahaffey and Bob Gilder, who shot 65s, shared second place in the chase for a $150,000 first prize. Hale Irwin and Mac O’Grady were next at 66.
