Beverly Hills : Long-Distance Run Set

The city’s 13th annual Long Distance Run and Community Fun Run will be Dec. 4 from 9 a.m. to noon. The event, which begins in front of Beverly Hills High School at Young and Moreno drives, will include a 10-kilometer long-distance run, a 1-mile “fun run,” as well as separate races for waiters and business employees.
Cash prizes will go to the top three male and female 10-K finishers. The event will be limited to 3,500 runners, and participants must pre-register with the city’s Recreation and Parks Department.
The event is co-sponsored by the Buick Division of General Motors Corp., which is donating $30,000 and a $27,000 Buick Reatta to be given away as a raffle prize. Proceeds from the run will be split between the city and the Beverly Hills Education Foundation. For more information, call (213) 550-4816.
