Reactions to Republicans Posting Guards at the Polls

Upon reading the editorial (“Fuentes Should Resign” Nov. 13), I was appalled and violated in my sense of justice. Quite aside from the merits or demerits of the issue involved, was there no occasion to remark on Fuentes’ distinguished record--repeat, distinguished record--of services to the Republican Party of Orange County during his nearly 4 years of chairman leadership. He has received exceptional praises, and most deservedly, for his exceptional leadership, and this praise came from officials high in the party at county, state and national levels. He was honored with a banquet.

Many people will be sad, and resentful, that there was not a word of respect and appreciation for his past services. Is justice, I do not say compassion, to be denied in a balanced estimate of this hard-working, loyal and capable man?
