Reactions to Republicans Posting Guards at the Polls
- Share via
As an educator, I am especially distressed by the presence of uniformed guards at the Santa Ana High School polling site.
Lessons to instill pride and responsibility in our future citizens are hypocritical at best in the face of this outrageous incident.
I agree with Raoul Silva, state Republican Central Committee member, that: “It’s not only illegal, it’s immoral. It’s un-American, it’s unconstitutional and it’s despicable.”
But it happened. Can we undo the harm it has done to the students who must perpetuate our democratic ideals in this pluralistic society? We must.
