“Davy Crockett,” which was described as practically a national disease when it aired in 1954-55 (the hit song was played constantly; coonskin caps were the rage), will return to action in a new two-hour movie arriving Sunday on NBC’s “The Magical World of Disney” (7-9 p.m., Channels 4, 36, 39).
Tim Dunigan stars as Davy this time out (Davy made Fess Parker a star in the ‘50s), and Gary Grubbs plays his friend, Georgie Russell. (Grubbs, left, and Dunigan are on the cover.)
Five “Crockett” stories are slated for this season. Johnny Cash, Samantha Eggar and David Hemmings guest in Sunday’s episode.
