Lawmakers of 33 countries from East and West began a three-day conference in Poland, with some Western leaders endorsing free trade unions and objecting to one-party rule, the offical PAP news agency reported from Warsaw. Organizers say the meeting of about 150 leaders from Europe, Canada and the United States is the first to assemble parliamentary leaders from both East and West blocs.
