House of Fabrics Reports Higher 3rd-Quarter Profit

House of Fabrics said its net income for the third quarter that ended Oct. 31 rose 4% to $4.2 million, or 62 cents a share, compared to $4 million, or 61 cents a share, in the same period a year earlier. Revenue was up 3% to $90 million from $87 million.
For the nine months, the company posted a profit of $6.6 million, or 99 cents a share, compared to $6.2 million, or 94 cents a share, a year earlier. Revenue increased to $237 million from $231 million.
