Glasson-Clampett’s 60 Leads by Stroke

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — Bill Glasson had 9 birdies and an eagle Thursday as he and Bobby Clampett combined for a 12-under-par 60 to take the first-round lead by a stroke in the $600,000 Chrysler PGA best-ball team championships.
Playing the 7,050-yard Dunes Course at the Palm Beach Polo and Country Club, they led 70 teams playing on 3 courses.
Defending champions Bob Tway and Mike Hulbert were among 5 teams tied at 61.
Buddy Gardner-Roger Maltbie, Brad Faxon-Denny Helper, Mark Hayes-Mike Sullivan and Clark Burroughs-Lance Ten Broeck also shot 61s.
