OTTAWA — About 300 people marched in front of Parliament Hill and through the downtown area of Ottawa on Saturday to protest human rights violations in Iran.
The protesters, carrying placards and Iranian flags, were led by four marchers in black-and-white striped prison garb. “Stop executions in Iran,” they chanted.
Some of the marchers had ended a 10-day hunger strike Friday in a large tent pitched two blocks from Parliament Hill.
They said they were protesting political executions and public hangings in Iran.
