Chapman 79, Cal Lutheran 76--Steve deLaveaga, Cal Lutheran’s career scoring leader, passed the 2,000-point mark in a nonconference loss at Chapman.
DeLaveaga, who finished with a game-high 26 points on 12-of-24 shooting, hit a 3-point shot with 19 seconds remaining to bring the Kingsmen to within 77-76, but Chapman’s Mike Minnier made 2 free throws. DeLaveaga, who has 2,008 career points, and David Rowlands each missed 3-point attempts on Cal Lutheran’s last possession.
Blake Miraglia had 16 points for Cal Lutheran (5-4) and teammate Mike Demeter added 14.
Riverside 65, Glendale 56--Justin Lord had a team-high 11 points for Glendale in the third-place game of the Golden West tournament. Brothers Gary and Jimmy Fowler each added 10 points for Glendale (4-4).
