Sakharov Flies Back to Moscow

PARIS — Human rights campaigner Andrei D. Sakharov, once an outcast of the Soviet Establishment, flew back to Moscow today after his first trip to the West since he was released from internal exile in December, 1986.
Officials said Sakharov and his wife, Yelena Bonner, left Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris on an Air France flight. The couple extended their stay by 24 hours in order to visit the capital’s sights and relax.
