High School Basketball Roundup : Torrey Pines Keeps Rolling, Wins Its Tournament, 83-46

Torrey Pines High School won its sixth consecutive game and its own tournament, defeating El Capitan, 83-46, in the championship game of the Torrey Pines tournament Monday night.
Courtie Miller of Torrey Pines, who was named the tournament’s most valuable player, scored 17 points for the Falcons in the final.
Kevin Flanagan, Darren Cox, Collin Armstrong and Danny Harriff--all of Torrey Pines--were named to the all-tournament team, along with El Capitan’s Jeremy McGarity, Ramona’s Nate Hollingsworth and Tony Newman, and Rancho Buena Vista’s Darryl Parker and Greg Porter.
Torrey Pines (6-0) outrebounded El Capitan (5-3), 41-10. Brad Smith scored all of El Capitan’s 15 points in the third quarter.
Flanagan added 16 points and 12 rebounds for the Falcons.
Nonleague
Vista 45, Carlsbad 42--Upu Liuchan hit a bank shot off an offensive rebound to give Vista a 44-42 lead with 20 seconds to play at Carlsbad.
Irvine tournament
Fallbrook 56, Corona del Mar 51--Keith Elston led Fallbrook with 15 points, and teammate Travis Teagle added 11.

Vista 71, USDHS 36--Senior center Chris Enger led Vista with 31 points.
