SAN FRANCISCO — It may have seemed like Christmas a bit early when $50 bills went flying through the air on Bush Street.
Police Officer Gary Constantine said a man wearing black galoshes and a green bandanna went into the Wells Fargo Bank branch on Divisadero Street on Friday and demanded $50 bills.
A chase ensued, and at one point, the man, whom police did not identify, began tossing the cash into the air.
The man was cornered a few blocks away and was arrested after a brief struggle with police officers.
Of the $2,500 taken from the bank, more than $1,000 was reported missing. About $700 was found on the suspect.
