Great Expectations (Z Monday at 1 a.m.): The splendid 1946 David Lean version of the Dickens novel stars John Mills. (1:58)
Knightriders (TMC Monday at 2 p.m.): Although overly long, George Romero’s little-known 1981 film is a genuine original, an apocalyptic vision of America set in its heartland and involving a group of bikers. They are the main attraction of a traveling Renaissance fair as they joust in armor while riding their motorcycles, trying to re-create Camelot in their daily lives. Ed Harris is the group’s figurative King Arthur. (2:25)
The Letter (Channel 5 Wednesday at 1:30 a.m.): The 1940 William Wyler film of the Somerset Maugham story about an English wife in Malaya attempting to cover up a murder; terrific part for Bette Davis. (2:00)
Unfaithfully Yours (1948) (Channel 11 Thursday at 1 a.m.): The sly Preston Sturges comedy in which a renowned conductor (Rex Harrison) envisions a variety of revenges against an unfaithful wife while he’s conducting a symphony. (2:00)
Oliver Twist (Channel 13 Saturday at noon): Another fine David Lean adaptation (1948) of Dickens. Alec Guinness stars. (2:00)
