Sidney Salomon III, 51, one of the original owners of the St. Louis Blues, died at his home in Tampa, Fla., after a long bout with cancer, the National Hockey League team said. Salomon and his father, both insurance executives, paid $2 million to establish the expansion franchise in 1967 and sold it in ’77.
