High School Basketball : Brown’s 80 Points in Tournament Lead Kennedy to Consolation Title

Randy Brown scored a game-high 19 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to lead Kennedy High to a 52-33 victory over Franklin in the consolation championship of the Malibu Classic at Pepperdine on Thursday night.
Brown, a forward who is equally adept at shooting from long range or driving to the basket, scored 80 points in 3 games and was named to the all-tournament team.
Garret Anderson added 17 points for Kennedy (7-3), the two-time defending tournament champion.

Calabasas 74, Maranatha 41--Junior forward Jason Young scored a game-high 26 points and junior forward Guy Hamilton added 18 points for the Coyotes.
GIRLS
Village Christian 51, Leffingwell 28--Jana Kovar scored 18 points and Leeann Robinson added 12 points and 15 rebounds in a first-round game of the Village Christian tournament.
Alemany 51, Downey 47--Andrea Hoffman scored 20 points to lead the Indians (7-4) in the fifth-place game of the Gahr tournament.
Anne Sasadeusz scored 14 points and grabbed 16 rebounds.
