Tom Collier, who played collegiate and pro basketball in the United States, scored a game-high 19 points to lead Livingston of Scotland to a 72-66 upset of the Soviet Union and a spot in the championship game of the 12th annual World Invitational Club Basketball tournament in London.

Collier, a 6-foot-9 forward from Alcorn State who led the Continental Basketball Assn. in rebounding two years ago, had 10 rebounds to control the boards against the towering Soviets.

Vic Fleming, twin brother of the Indiana Pacers’ Vern Fleming, scored 18 points and directed the offense from the backcourt.

Livingston, which is third in Britain’s semipro National League this season, will play for the title today against Leverkusen of West Germany, which defeated Aris Thessalonika of Greece, 79-74.
