Local News in Brief : Airlines, Travelers Face Fee Increase
- Share via
It will cost airlines more to fly into Long Beach Airport and travelers more to park their cars there under a new fee schedule approved Tuesday by the Long Beach City Council.
The increases, which will go into effect after a second reading of the ordinance next week, are intended to offset operating losses of $160,000 a month at the municipal airport, located just north of the 405 Freeway. Long-term parking fees will jump from $6 to $9 a day, and landing fees for commercial airlines and private planes will increase, as will terminal gate fees.
