A possible arson fire erupted in a Los Angeles church, causing $750,000 in damage before firefighters were able to douse it an hour later.
About 60 firefighters from 14 engine companies battled the Thursday fire at the the Eternal Hope Baptist Church at 1910 W. 48th St., city Fire Department spokesman Jim Williamson said.
The cause of the fire was under investigation, Williamson said, but firefighters believe an incendiary device helped the blaze spread through the church. There were no injuries.
