WASHINGTON — President Bush, suffering from laryngitis, canceled a speech today before the National Assn. of Religious Broadcasters.
Bush has had a cold for about a week, and his voice has been getting hoarser over the last several days. On Tuesday, Bush gave a speech in Norfolk, Va., and said later he had worried he might not be able to get through it. In announcing the cancellation of today’s speech, White House deputy press secretary Roman Popadiuk said, “He’s feeling absolutely superb. He has laryngitis.”
Popadiuk said Bush would go through with a brief, scheduled appearance in the afternoon before the National Assn. of Wholesale Distributors.
