Fourth-Quarter Goals Help Comets Edge Lazers, 5-4

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Chris Hundelt and Ken Roentved scored in the fourth quarter Saturday night to lead the Kansas City Comets past the Lazers, 5-4, in Major Indoor Soccer League action.
Kansas City gained a 1-0 lead at 9:53 in the second quarter on Dale Mitchell’s goal, but Jim Gabarra’s goal for the Lazers tied it two minutes later.
Jan Goosens put the Comets ahead, 2-1, at 13:46 of the second quarter, but the Lazers tied it 13 seconds later on Hector Marinaro’s goal.
In the third quarter, Michael Collins and Marinaro scored for the Lazers (13-13) and Stan Cummins scored for the Comets as the Lazers held a 4-3 lead before losing it the final quarter.
The Comets (10-16) have three straight victories.
