A man wanted for murder in Alabama was arrested in Pacoima after Los Angeles police officers stopped him for traffic violations, authorities said today.
Curtis M. Stone, 24, was arrested about 8 p.m. Monday when patrol officers saw a man driving erratically through a residential area, then failing to yield for an emergency vehicle, detective Jim Turner said.
Stone was stopped on Pinney Street near Norris Avenue and gave officers proper identification, Turner said. A routine computer check turned up a murder warrant from Mobile, Ala., for Stone’s arrest.
Turner said Stone is wanted in the death of a 60-year-old man who was shot last month after an apparent argument. Stone was being held without bail pending extradition proceedings.
