Comsat Corp. reported record profit of $62 million for 1988, contrasted with a loss of $47 million a year ago. Revenue rose to $359 million, up 8%. For the fourth quarter, net income nearly tripled to $12 million on revenue of $92 million, a gain of 12%. The Washington-based firm, which provides international, domestic and maritime communication services, credited the results to growth in its Intelsat satellite and maritime services and video entertainment units.
